This year, CARTES 2011 attracted close to 20 000 visitors to the exhibition, confirming its position as the event of reference for the industry. From the World Card Summit to the SESAMES Award, to the conferences and booths, this year’s event was able to meet all exhibitors’ needs.

- 19 513 visitors (18 768 last year)
- 143 countries represented
- 21 conferences, 1225 participants 87% of foreigners
- And a 13% growth for the industry for 2012, forecasted by Eurosmart
CARTES, a place for Innovation…
Mobile payment and NFC applications have been key themes this year; the exhibition welcomed many demonstrations including brand new concepts such as the NFC car from Oberthur or the eBike from NXP. The pavilion dedicated to mobile payment companies hosted 12 solutions providers for mobile payment, transaction management, smartphones, tablets, etc.
Maybe one of the most interesting presentations was the one from Scott Mulloy from ISIS who demonstrated how mobile payment will soon integrate many different functions and dramatically increase the consumer experience at the point of sale.
The exhibition also welcomed many projects related to government security relying on Biometrics and SMART ID card solutions. But also in the e-Health sectors with projects presented at our Smart Health exhibition (electronic health records, health cards, telemedicine…), which aims at both fighting against fraud and service costs but also improving the quality of care services and patients comfort.
CARTES & IDentification exhibitions all around the world
CARTES is now happening over 3 different continents! This year, we are launching CARTES in North America, which, added to CARTES in Asia will provide high level conferences and a place for the industry to meet and share their insights all over the world.
