Breakthrough: More performances, more security and less power consumption in contactless applications
Discover a technology that'll "contribute to reformulating entirely a certain number of debates around power management and security, to mention only the crucial issues in mobile contactless technology".
Yvon Avenel Editor-in-Chief of SmartCards Trends - a CARTES & IDentification partner - was thrilled by a really innovative company who happens to be French (no, we are not chauvinistic) called Tiempo and founded in July 2007. He considers this is a decisive breakthrough in the smart card Industry - contactless and security and considering the wrowd on their stand, he is not the only one!
For those who fully understand the technology, they should be some real immediate interest in this first consecration of asynchronous (so-called "clockless" or unlocked) technologies which had so far encountered a lot of impasses: "Tiempo unveils the market's first true 16-bit asyncrhonous industrial microcontroller (TAM16) associated with an IP blocks offering".
Yvon explains: "These are the first signs of a revolution, in terms of performance, speed, power consumption, as well as security for embedded electronics and contactless in particular. The agreement signed a few months ago by Tiempo and Inside Contactless gives a fair idea of the stakes. Other major silicon manufacturers are also in line. Payment application operators and OS vendors as well. Now, that's a first" (source: SmartCards Trends -Sept/Oct 09).
If you wish to visit TIEMPO go to booth 3 D095 in the INNOVATION VILLAGE.
Beware, there are so many professionals paying them a visit that it will be challenging to speak to them. They are bewildered themselves of the success they are encountering for "the fruit of years of R&D conducted within the TIMA labs in Grenoble, France".
